Following a Postgraduate Certificate of Education (PGCE), I spent six happy years teaching children across a range of age groups in a local primary school. Being a class teacher enables you to experience different ways of teaching and learning and adapt your style to individuals, groups and the whole class - sometimes all at once! It gave me a wide range of experience in not only how to work with children but also keeping up-to-date with the curriculum. I have often been told by parents how difficult it is to keep up with the changing curriculum and knowing how to adapt this to each individual child. Using the curriculum as my basis for teaching allows me to tailor each session and ensure it is relevant to each child's learning.

Over the last fifteen years, I have been lucky enough to work with children of a range of ages and abilities. I have worked with children as young as four up to GCSE level. Preparing for SATS and 11+ has often been a popular demand and the success rate for these have always been high. Working as a Year 6 teacher previously has also helped me to keep on top of the requirements and expectations of the curriculum and this has definitely helped me to become a better tutor.
